Soooo…I quit my job.
I know, I know…I must seem like a szichophrenic…I was just saying I love my students. But seriously, the weather and the crappy apartment started getting to us and after going home for Christmas, I just decided that I would rather teach until mid-February and then travel around the world some more. I have the best life.
It didn’t feel that way when I got back from Michigan and upon arriving at our apartment, we had no heat and this girl was staying with us while she looks for a flat, and was already asleep using my pillow, while I used a rolled up towel under my head and slept in a hoodie to avoid freezing to death…
First, Wendi and Stephanie and I decided to go to Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania. Then we’ll be back in Prague when my mom and her SEVEN friends come to visit. Then in April I am having some other visitors and then I will do some more traveling, likely to Croatia and maybe Italy. Who knows…I feel like life is mine for the living!
My parents just bought me a beater. For those of you not hip on the lingo, that would be a 14 year old car without an antenna. Yes, that’s right…it cost less than $2000 and it is a groovy 1988 Honda Accord with 162,000 miles on it. I guess it’s in good condition. As my mom not so gently reminded me, “You’ll need a car for JOB-HUNTING.”. Hmph. Yes, she may have a point.
